Latest Nottingham Forest news from NottinghamshireLive as Anthony Elanga discusses his transfer from Manchester United.

Anthony Elanga has described his transfer from Manchester United to Nottingham Forest as “perfect”. And the young winger also insists there isn’t a big difference between the two teams.

Elanga is currently on international duty with Sweden, having made an impressive start to life at the City Ground following his summer transfer from Old Trafford. The 21-year-old has played in all eight of the Reds’ matches in the Premier League so far, scoring his first goal for the club as they memorably beat Chelsea 1-0 at Stamford Bridge last month.

He has helped Forest to 13th place in the table just three places and three points below United. Steve Cooper ’s side also pushed Erik ten Hag’s men all the way in a 3-2 defeat at Old Trafford in August.

Speaking about his transfer to Fotbollskanalen, Elanga said: “It has been perfect. I talked to the leaders before I came here. I know what the leaders want and how to play. The project and everything there is perfect for me.”

And asked about the difference between playing for Forest and United, where he came through the youth ranks to play in the first team, he added: “Nottingham are still a great team historically. They have won two Champions Leagues. So, you could say I’ve gone from one big team to another big team.

“The difference isn’t that big. We have started well in the league, winning games, drawing some and losing some. But it’s a good team, a good city and good players. The season is long and hopefully we can have a good season.”
