Celtic’s players are really starting to enjoy a good international week as the fixtures come thick and fast.

Callum McGregor was pivotal in Scotland’s 2-2 draw with Georgia on Thursday night and TBR Celtic told how Luis Palma impressed once more in Honduras’ 2-0 win over Mexico.

And now it’s the turn of Cameron Carter-Vickers. The 25-year-old started for the USMT in the 2-0 win over Trinidad & Tobago and it’s fair to say the Celtic defender has also impressed if these ratings by the US media are anything to go by.

Cameron Carter-Vickers represents Celtic well in America

The ‘man mountain‘ of a defender looked impressive he helped the USA keep a clean sheet and it seems that the media are looking impressed with the Celtic stopper.

Goal: (7/10) Provided the physical presence in the few moments that T&T did get forward, although those moments were few and far between.

ESPN: “7 — Few complaints about the central defender that worked well with Tim Ream while providing crucial defensive interventions.”

MLS Soccer: “7 Starting alongside Ream, there was nothing to complain about from Carter-Vickers as he and the defence wound up recording the clean sheet.”

NBC Sports: ‘Cameron Carter-Vickers: 8 — The Celtic back is a bad, bad man. Clearly growing toward his prime at age 25.”

Carter-Vickers is a valuable first-team player for Celtic

The £6m signing from Tottenham Hotspur has been superb again for Celtic so far this season. Barring his mistake against Lazio, the US defender has been imperious in the Hoops backline.

Creating a partnership with the impressive Liam Scales, Carter-Vickers looks just as solid this season as he did over the last two seasons with his partnership with Carl Starfelt, averaging a 7.3 in the Scottish Premiership according to football ratings site, SofaScore.

This isn’t the first time he has impressed at international level. His return to US action in October was long awaited as the media said that he would bring ‘stability’ to what looks like a shaky backline.

Next up for Carter-Vickers is the return fixture away to Trinidad on the 21st of November where the Celtic fans will be hoping for another solid performance and an injury-free CCV.
