The Buffalo Bills added wide receiver Stefon Diggs to the Friday practice report with a back injury, the team revealed.

A star player appeared on the Buffalo Bills’ injury report on Friday. Heading into their looming primetime game against the Denver Broncos, the Bills added Stefon Diggs to the injury report.

Buffalo listed the star wide receiver on the report with a back injury.

“The Bills had a new addition to their practice report Friday, listing receiver Stefon Diggs as a limited participant with a back injury,” Pro Football Talk wrote. The publication noted that Diggs did not appear on Thursday’s practice report.

This season, Diggs has posted solid numbers. Through nine games, the former Maryland standout leads the NFL in receptions, 70 through early November. He’s also recorded 834 receiving yards and seven touchdowns, meaning he’s within range of another 100-1,000-10 season in Buffalo. Should he get there, he’d have reached that milestone three consecutive seasons in a row.

But this back injury obviously may derail those plans. Obviously, the Bills must hope he’s good to go for the team’s playoff chase. So, for their sake, this was just an aberration.

The Bills will take on the lowly Denver Broncos this week. Buffalo is 5-4 on the season and hasn’t really gotten in a groove. Luckily, there’s still time for them to do it. And thus far, statistically, they’ve been one of the best teams on both offense and defense, ranking 5th in Scoring Offense and Defense.
