The Buffalo Bills lost, again. It was an embarrassing performance from the offense, again. With Josh Allen and Stefon Diggs on the same side of the football, with a healthy offensive line and plenty of new weapons around them, we’re getting sick of talking about how the offense just cannot execute.

Josh Allen spoke after the contest, spending time discussing how the team needs to get better, and they have to execute and even got fired up to the point of shouting when the controversial grounding call was brought up.

Shortly after, Sean McDermott took to the podium and among other things, dissected the current state of the Bills’ offense and what the team needs to do moving forward, offering a brutal diagnosis of the issues that need to be fixed immediately if this team wants to win football games.

You can find the portion of McDermott’s postgame interview at the 39:20 mark of the video below.

While not mentioning Ken Dorsey by name, McDermott was asked about what needs to change on the offense, and it’s a laundry list. McDermott began, “Yeah, you know I don’t have an answer for you but consistency, let’s just start there. More consistent. establishing the line of scrimmage. I thought last week we spread the ball around, tonight not as much.”

McDermott continued, “Thought there was times when Josh had time back there and you know from the looks of it maybe nobody was open. So we gotta look at that and say hey why aren’t we open (…) I think that’s where we gotta start.”

Speaking on the lack of productivity from other receivers, McDermott was quick to respond, “You gotta have more than 2 so obviously Stef and Dalton are heavy hitters for us and they get their targets. But when you’re getting into a rhythm and your run is working with the pass, the pass is working with the run, they go hand in hand. Just too inconsistent today.”

McDermott listed out what the team needs to do better moving forward, offering a diagnosis that was basically the team needs to be more consistent and they need to establish the line of scrimmage while also spreading the ball around.

For a team with Super Bowl aspirations, this is possibly the worst that we’ve felt all season about the team. Normally a superstar QB like Josh Allen can help hide some of the flaws on offense, but that hasn’t been the case as of late.
