Martin Brundle claims that there are signs of ‘disruption’ at Red Bull – amid investigation into team principal Christian Horner after allegations of ‘inappropriate behaviour’

Martin Brundle has claimed that there are signs of ‘disruption’ at Red Bull amid the investigation into Christian Horner.

Red Bull team principal Horner is currently being investigated after he was accused of ‘inappropriate behaviour’ by a female colleague – with a decision expected to be made on Wednesday.

The allegations against Horner have overshadowed the run up to the 2024 F1 season and been one of the main stories in sport, with the 50-year-old subject of an investigation from his side.

Horner denies the claims emphatically and wife Geri Horner, formerly Halliwell, is standing by him as he fights for his reputation.

However, despite Horner’s stance, there are still suggestions that there has been ‘disruption’ among the racing team – with Brundle leading those claims.

peaking to Sky Sports, he explained: ‘I think the problem Red Bull have is that Dietrich Mateschitz was the final arbiter of any key decision and they followed him.

‘He said jump, they said how high. So I think you’re already seeing some of this – chaos is too strong a word – but disruption, let’s call it, from that point on in 2022.

‘Obviously, if you take Christian out of that loop, then a vacuum is always filled with other things, isn’t it?

‘And whether that would have the same effect [as Mateschitz’s passing], but they’ve got momentum and they’ve got

‘So I wouldn’t be too worried about their immediate performance, but down the road, you’d have to say that that would create some challenges’.

Last week, Horner refused to comment on the investigation into his own alleged ‘inappropriate behaviour’, but says he hopes there is a ‘resolution as soon as possible’.

Horner was carrying out his Red Bull team principal as usual on Thursday in Bahrain, amid the investigation launched earlier this month following a complaint made by a female employee. Horner ‘fully denies’ the claims.

During the press conference at F1 testing, Horner said he was unable to talk about the ongoing investigation because he was a ‘part of it’ but said the ‘process was under way’.

Horner, who was reluctant to elaborate further, finished by saying he hoped a resolution could be found as soon as possible.
