Prior to last week’s win at the lowly Carolina Panthers, Dallas Cowboys wide receiver, Ceedee Lamb, was on a very impressive streak. He had managed over 150 yards receiving in each of the past 3 games, and over 110 yards in each of the past 4. So impressive was this feat that it actually managed to land Lamb in the NFL record books.

Thus, the Cowboy faithful were understandably devastated when Lamb was forced off in the first half of their 33-10 win against Carolina with a sprained ankle. However, it seems like despite the quick turnaround, Lamb may well be healthy soon enough to face the Washington Commanders on Thanksgiving, per Tom Pelissero.

How Does This Impact The Dallas Cowboys’ Offence?

The Dallas Cowboys have always been one of the more divisive teams in the NFL. From the United States’ love/hate relationship with ‘America’s Team’ to the plethora of debates concerning whether Dak Prescott is a true franchise quarterback. Right now, this 7-3 team seem poised, once again, for the #5 seed in the NFC and second in their NFC East conference behind the league-best 9-1 Philadelphia Eagles.

Offensively, this team has always been able to put up points, ranking 2nd in the NFL in points per game in 2023, only behind the electric Miami Dolphins (who put up 70 points in just one game against the Denver Broncos).

Despite also having serviceable weapons on the outside in Brandon Cooks and the serially injured Michael Gallup, Ceedee Lamb is easily the #1 receiver in this offence and is crucial to this Dallas Cowboys’ success.

Especially considering that after Thanksgiving, the Dallas Cowboys’ schedule gets considerably more difficult than the Cowboys’ more recent opponents, such as the Carolina Panthers and the Tommy DeVito-lead New York Giants. The Cowboys take on 5 playoff hopefuls in the Seattle Seahawks, Philadelphia Eagles, Buffalo Bills, Miami Dolphins and Detroit Lions.

This brutal 5 week stretch will certainly shed more light to the true validity of this team’s Super Bowl aspirations, and having Ceedee Lamb back with them will certainly help them navigate their way through it.
