The Minnesota Vikings signed an offensive weapon a day before they’re set to play the Green Bay Packers in Week 8. The Vikings have a couple of wide receivers battling injuries this week.

The Vikings’ best offensive player, Justin Jefferson, was placed on injured reserve a couple of weeks ago and is ineligible to play the Packers this week. Jalen Nailor was listed as questionable to play the Packers on Friday’s injury report due to a hamstring injury. The Vikings needed to add depth at wide receiver before Sunday’s game.

The Minnesota Vikings sign a wide receiver

According to Aaron Wilson with KPRC, the Vikings signed wide receiver Trishton Jackson to the 53-man roster from their practice squad.

The Los Angeles Rams initially signed Jackson as a UDFA in 2020. He’s been with the Vikings since the 2021 season. Jackson caught one pass for seven yards in the Vikings win over the San Francisco 49ers in Week 7. Those are his only stats on the season.

The Vikings’ depth concerns at wide receiver will make an interesting matchup with the Packers’ significant injuries in the secondary. The Packers placed Eric Stokes and Darnell Savage on injured reserve earlier in the week. Star cornerback Jaire Alexander is questionable to play the Vikings on Sunday with a back injury.
