Appearing on Thursday’s episode of “Knicks Film School” podcast, Katz, who covers the Knicks, said

“I’m not going to embarrass the guy, but there was an epic fart that loosened up the locker room a lot before the game. And I’m not going to say who it was.”

He shed more light on the situation during an appearance on The Dan Le Batard Show.

“It actually didn’t get a reaction audibly at all. It got pure silence and a look over to that one player, and that one player looked around as if he was being inconspicuous and said with a completely straight face, Something’s up with the pipes in here, and that got the huge laugh.”

The Knicks dominated Tuesday’s matchup and secured a 30-point win in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference semifinals against the Indiana Pacers.

Star point guard Jalen Brunso put a 44-point performance, his fifth 40-point game of the postseason.

New York will have the chance to close things out and reach the Eastern Conference Finals for the first time since 2000 in Game 6 on Friday.

Game 6 will take place on Friday night at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indiana.

The 121-91 victory over the Pacers in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference helped New York take a 3-2 lead in the best-of-seven series, a chance to earn advancement to the Eastern Conference Finals on Friday night in Indianapolis.
