Richarlison reveals he will seek ‘psychological help’ on his return to Tottenham… as the Brazil star admits he has endured a ‘turbulent five months’ off the field.

Brazil star Richarlison has revealed he will seek ‘psychological help’ on his return to Tottenham’ after the international break, with the forward looking to work on his mind following a ‘turbulent time’ off the field.

Richarlison had missed a golden chance to score before being substituted, with the 26-year-old then been visually emotional on the bench.

He was also substituted in the 64th minute of Brazil’s 1-0 win over Peru on Tuesday, ending the international break without a goal.

Richarlison, who has faced scrutiny for a lack of goals at Tottenham, revealed post-match that he been impacted by off the field events, where people with an eye on his money ‘walked away’ from him.

The striker said this had contributed to his emotional reaction against Bolivia in Belem, adding he will seek ‘psychological help’ at Tottenham.

went through a turbulent time in the last five months off the field. Now things are right at home. People who only had an eye on my money walked away from me,’ Richarlison told the Brazilian newspaper Globo.

‘Now things will start to flow, I’m sure I’ll get a good run at Tottenham and make things happen again.

‘That sad moment wasn’t even because I played poorly, in my opinion I didn’t play a bad game in Belem, it was more of an outburst about the things that were happening off the field, which got out of control not on my part, but on the part of people who were close to me.

‘I’m going to go back to England, seek psychological help, from a psychologist, to work on my mind. That’s it, come back stronger.

I believe I will be in the next squad, I will work for that. It’s about getting a good streak at Tottenham, this week I’m going to sit down and talk to them, I need a good streak, get the rhythm of the game.’

Richarlison did not provide further details over the off the field issues, but Globo reported that the Brazilian has recently split with his long-term agent Renato Velasco, who had supported him from the start of his career.
