Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling did not appreciate one reporter’s line of questioning during a recent interview. The Chiefs wideout let the reporter know it too.

Valdes-Scantling was interviewed in the Chiefs’ locker room Friday by Fox4 News KC’s PJ Green. The reporter asked about Valdes-Scantling’s mental preparation given “everything going on this season.”

The former Green Bay Packers receiver asked what Green was referring to. Green responded by pointing to “drops here and there” and “things happening late in games.”

“I don’t really know what you’re referring to,” Valdes-Scantling defiantly answered. “It is what it is. It’s football. You’re not going to make every play. It’s not really anything that’s ‘going on’ that isn’t happening to any other player in this league.”

The Chiefs’ wide receiver room has certainly had its fair share of issues this season. Kansas City leads the league in drops with 25 entering Sunday’s NFL slate.

However, Valdes-Scantling has just 2 of the team’s 25 drops this season. He’s tied for fifth on the team in drops behind fellow receivers Rashee Rice (8), Kadarius Toney (3), Justin Watson (3), and star tight end Travis Kelce (4).

Valdes-Scantling called out Green on X after the latter posted the video of their exchange.

“You’re better than this PJ,” said Valdes-Scantling. “Fishing for whatever answer you were chasing is not the best form of journalism. I’m disappointed in your lack of understanding, and the lack of research and effort that you put into your questions with me today. So my demeanor was directed at you.”

valdes-Scantling has not had many drops this season, but one of them just so happened to be a big one.

The 29-year-old wideout botched what appeared to be a guaranteed touchdown grab late in the Chiefs’ Week 11 against the Philadelphia Eagles (video here).
