Drew Brees. Legend. Icon. Any of those work for the historic quarterback in the eyes of the New Orleans Saints. He’s headed into their Hall of Fame, and he made a great speech regarding his time with the franchise this past week.
The Saints will officially induct Brees into their team’s Hall of Fame during a home game in 2024. There’s plenty of good options, but a few make the most sense.

Week 6 vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
This is a rivalry game that could be an important one for both sides. Brees saw a lot of success against Tampa during his career. His career record versus the Bucs was 20-10.
One of Brees’ most impressive games of his career came against TB, too. In 2013, Brees had a game against the Bucs where he threw for 381 yards and four touchdowns. His QBR for that game was 157.4. It’d be a solid option to induct him for multiple reasons.
Week 15 vs. Washington Commanders
This one is a bit surprising maybe? That could be the case, but many fans will remember a special game from Brees against Washington.
Brees and the Saints trailed 31-16 in the fourth quarter. With all of the pressure on them, the legendary QB led the offense back into the game, tying it at 31 late in the fourth. The Saints won it on a Wil Lutz field goal in overtime. This would be a unique choice, and fans may appreciate it a bit more due to that performance.
Week 7 vs. the Denver Broncos
The top option is against Sean Payton and Denver. No matter how you may feel about the way Payton’s tenure ended in New Orleans, his role in Brees’ career can’t be overlooked. The HC/QB duo is one of the most productive in NFL history.
This game will be emotional to begin with, and inducting the QB into the franchise’s HOF on this day could really take it over the top. You can expect that both teams have a feeling that this may become the reality nearly halfway through the 2024 season.
