Nick Sirianni’s fate with Eagles could be decided Wednesday. Here’s what we know

It is hard to imagine Nick Sirianni is in this situation.

The Philadelphia Eagles were playing in the Super Bowl just a season ago. They looked like Super Bowl contenders just a couple months ago.

But it all unraveled so spectacularly down the home stretch, culminating in Monday’s 32-9 playoff loss to Tampa Bay, that Philly fans want the guy gone.

And it is not without question — especially with coaches like Jim Harbaugh and Bill Belichick taking visits with teams and looking for jobs — that Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie could send him packing.

Fans might not have to wait long to figure out what the move will be there, too, because according to Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer, Sirianni is slated to have his end of the season meeting with Lurie and General Manager Howie Roseman on Wednesday.

He is also slated to have his exit interviews with players, per McLane.

“No secret that if he stays, there will have to be significant changes made to his coaching staff,” McLane posted on X, formerly Twitter. “And there will need to be some bridging between Sirianni and QB Jalen Hurts, who didn’t deny an ESPN report that he wasn’t happy with the direction of the offense.”

McLane added, “early indications are that Lurie hasn’t made a final decision on Sirianni’s future with the Eagles.”

He also noted that when Lurie let go of Doug Pederson in 2020 he went into their end of season meeting expecting to keep him, but ultimately decided to fire him after they could not come to an agreement on coordinator candidates.
It is hard to imagine the Eagles are in this situation, but today and the coming days and weeks will be very interesting for Philly fans.
