We all know that the focus for Liverpool was to strengthen their midfielder. This is evident in their spending receipt from the summer transfer window, which consisted solely of midfielders. In fairness, Jurgen Klopp did well with his budget to sign as many excellent midfielders as he did.

On the final day, Liverpool made a £100 million offer for Bruno Guimaraes of Newcastle.

Now, it is known that Klopp wasn’t content with his alternatives on the day of the deadline. According to AS, Liverpool made a last-minute offer to sign Newcastle United and Brazil midfielder Bruno Guimaraes on the English deadline day. If accepted, the offer would have cost the Reds an enormous £100 million. In retrospect, we realise that it wasn’t a success.

Naturally, Klopp is willing to spend big on the final day of the transfer window to sign a proven midfielder. Bruno has been by far Newcastle United’s best player during their incredible season. Also, I would say he would be Liverpool’s best midfielder if he signed for them, regardless of how much of an upper hand Szoboszlai has.

Imagine if Liverpool completed the signing of Bruno on transfer deadline day. That would certainly make them title contenders, if they aren’t already considered such. Taking into account that Liverpool managed to keep hold of their best player, Mohamed Salah, when the Saudi transfer window closed yesterday, this was a near-perfect transfer market for Jurgen Klopp. The only thing that could make things better is if Bruno’s offer is accepted. However, fans cannot complain about anything.

Having started the season well, fans will be excited to see their team get back to action after the current international break. Next week, they will play Wolves away from home, in what should be a routine win for the Reds.
