of a hectic Christmas period of four matches in nine days, as well as numerous injury problems.

That said, Leeds will still be hoping they have enough to get over the line as they face a Peterborough side who could play into their hands due to their tendency to play attacking football. Darren Ferguson’s side are the highest scorers in League One, but are also fairly leaky at the back.

And writing in his latest predictions column for BBC Sport, Sutton is expecting a high scoring game at the Weston Homes Stadium, with Leeds just about coming out on top.

He wrote: “Former Norwich boss Daniel Farke is having a great time of it with Leeds, who are flying at the moment. Peterborough have got some exciting young players and they will have a real go at home, but Leeds have the quality to get past them. Prediction: Peterborough 2-3 Leeds.

“Leeds’ away form has been poor of late with three consecutive defeats in the Championship, though all of those were against sides who sat back, something which has been a struggle under Farke.

However, as mentioned, Peterborough are unlikely to adopt those sort of tactics if their league form is anything to go by. No side in the division has had more goals in their matches than Posh.

Leeds have been notorious for going out of cup competitions to lower league opposition in the last few years. It was only in August they were knocked out of the Carabao Cup by League Two Salford City.

Either way, it should provide a welcome break from the stresses of the automatic promotion race and hopefully Leeds come out on top.
