Ryan Gravenberch, a player for Bayern Munich, is only 21 years old and still has a long way to go in terms of developing as a player. He is also still in the prime of his career. The Reds will spend €40 million for the midfielder, according to David Ornstein of The Athletic (subscription required), and they will sign him to a long-term contract. He is expected to arrive in Liverpool on a flight on Thursday night, then get a checkup on Friday before signing a contract.
Gravenberch might be classified as a defensive midfielder, but considering Klopp’s desire for the latter, it stands to reason that the manager will try to use him there. Given the paucity of Bundesliga games since his transfer from Ajax, it’s probable that he will need some time to adjust to life at Anfield as well.
