Las Vegas Raiders edge rusher Charles Snowden last played in an NFL regular season game in Week 15 of the 2021 season. In fact, Snowden only has six defensive snaps and 13 special teams snaps to show for his young career. Fortunately for Snowden, his fate now rests with the Raiders, who, in recent years, have been successful at developing players who, at one point or another, were merely fighting for a roster spot.

Snowden entered the league as an undrafted free agent in 2021. He signed with the Chicago Bears, with whom he played his only two games. The Bears waived Snowden as part of final roster cuts in 2022. He had recorded just one tackle in three preseason games before being waived.

Snowden was then signed to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ practice squad that November. Tampa Bay signed him to a reserve/future contract in January 2023. Snowden recorded three tackles and a sack for the Buccaneers in the 2023 preseason before they waived him as part of final roster cuts. The Raiders signed him to their practice squad in December before signing him to a reserve/future contract last month. His one-year contract is worth $795,000. Before his NFL career, Snowden spent four seasons at Virginia, where he made 35 starts in 45 games.
