The Pittsburgh Steelers are currently in an interesting spot in the AFC playoff race.  Sitting at 8-7, they are the 10th seed heading into Week 17.  There have been multiple different quarterbacks under center for the Steelers this season.  Something that can be a bit frustrating for a team who seemingly has a championship caliber defense. Multiple reports have surfaced recently that indicate the Steelers could get a long-term plan in place at the quarterback position sooner rather than later.

Multiple league insiders have reported that the Broncos are planning to move on from Russell Wilson after benching him to avoid paying the $37 million injury guarantee in 2024.   CBS Sports’ Zach Gelb believes the Steelers should approach Wilson if Wilson hits the open market:

“Who are the most intriguing destinations out there? They have a good roster, a good team, and they could use an upgrade at the quarterback position,” Gelb said. “How about the Pittsburgh Steelers?

The Steelers have two receivers who are probably on the verge of killing each other in George Pickens and Diontae Johnson, because they have no quarterback play. Heck, Mason Rudolph just played well and now he’s replacing a first-round pick from two draft classes ago. You have a defense with a ton of talent if they can stay healthy. And you also have Jaylen Warren and Najee Harris to run the football.”
