Everton are taking the next step in taking over.

This is according to Sky Sports, which reports that the management process for 777 Partners to complete its takeover is “very advanced”.

After months of protests and speculation, Everton confirmed they have reached an agreement with the Miami-based company to take over Farhad Moshiri’s assets at Goodison Park.

Despite concerns over whether 777 Partners would have enough money to complete the deal, they now appear to be moving quickly after co-founder Josh Wander traveled to Merseyside this week to meet Sean Dyche and Kevin Thelwell for extremely positive discussion.

It has now been reported that claims of MSP Sports Capital blocking the takeover by calling in its loan for the club’s new stadium are untrue, while the other major club lenders, Rights and Media funding, have given full consent for the deal to happen.

While Everton’s takeover is progressing, it is still subject to approval by the Premier League, the FA and the Financial Conduct Authority.

Commenting on the takeover, Sky Sports News journalist Alan Myers said:

“I think what 777 will bring is business acumen to the club.

“The club needs a serious business strategy, not ownership or fan sentiment, however good that may be. In football, the era of the ‘people’s club’ is over.”

Farhad Moshiri is finally set to end his seven-year tenure on Merseyside – just 20 months after increasing his stake in the club from 49.9% to 94%.

Did Farhad Moshiri make the right decision to sell Everton to 777 Partners?

There has been a lot of uncertainty surrounding the arrival of 777 Partners at Goodison and whether it will truly be an improvement on the Moshiri property. This American company already owns shares in clubs such as Hertha Berlin, Standard Liege and Genoa and its ownership has been questioned and – in some cases – challenged.

Speaking about Moshiri’s time with Everton on talkSPORT, Sam Allardyce said:

“I’ve been sitting here looking forward to talking to you about the acquisition and what that means, but obviously they have to look at this very carefully and make sure everything goes well in terms of finance.

“Honestly, you couldn’t have a better owner than Farhad Moshiri. 600 million pounds since he took over and unfortunately not on track.

“Big plans and building a new stadium, but maybe now he’s had enough and knows it’s time to let someone else take the reins, but who that might be needs to be chosen very carefully for the “continued financial commitment required by Everton.”
