Tottenham Hotspur sold Jack Clarke to Sunderland in 2022 but he is now attracting major interest from Brighton and Hove Albion.

Jack Clarke could be given another Premier League chance with Brighton and Hove Albion now keen on the former Tottenham Hotspur talent.

That is according to a report from TEAMtalk, who claim that Brighton are now interested in landing Clarke.

Sunderland have enjoyed a fine start to the season and sit fourth in the Championship table.

The Black Cats lost out in the Championship play-off semi-finals last season and will be looking for another top six finish – if they can keep hold of Clarke.

Brighton and Hove Albion want Jack Clarke

TEAMtalk now suggest that three Premier League clubs are interested in signing Clarke in the January transfer window.

It’s stated that Brighton have joined Burnley and rivals Crystal Palace in the race to sign Clarke in 2024.

Clarke has been in fine form this season, already smashing seven goals in just 11 Championship games with boss Tony Mowbray calling him a ‘super talent’.

Premier League clubs are now unsurprisingly interested, with Sunderland demanding a hefty fee for their star wide man.

Sunderland rejected £10million offers over the summer and are thought to have a high asking price given that Tottenham have a significant sell-on clause on Clarke.

Add in that agent Ian Harte suggested that Clarke loves Sunderland and a summer deal just wasn’t possible, but Sunderland could receive more offers in January.

Tottenham could see Clarke make Premier League return

Tottenham pounced to sign Clarke in 2019, landing him in an £8.5million move from Leeds United before loaning him back to Elland Road.

Clarke continued to go out on loan and just never got going with Tottenham but did show promise on loan at Sunderland in League One.

Spurs then agreed to sell Clarke to Sunderland in 2022, accepting a low fee but knowing that the deal could go up to around £10million.

Add in a sell-on clause potentially worth up to 50% and Tottenham could still benefit from Clarke leaving Sunderland.

Some may feel that Tottenham sold Clarke too soon if Brighton are now keen, but it’s the guaranteed starring role at Sunderland which has really aided his development – and could give him a Premier League return.
