Denver Broncos safety Kareem Jackson has earned a bit of a bad rap around the league.
He has had some vicious and borderline dirty hits throughout the course of his career, and some of his colleagues may not like him that much.
That’s why the league decided to suspend him for four games after his latest illegal hit, which was a huge blow to the head of Packers’ TE Luke Musgrave, who was defenseless.
Even so, Broncos Defensive Coordinator Vance Joseph believes he’s not actively trying to hurt people, and he stated that he’s looking forward to doing better and playing within the rules (via Zac Stevens).
The Broncos have been quite vulnerable on defense this season, so not having Jackson on the field won’t do a lot to help their cause.
Fortunately for him, he did win his appeal to have his suspension reduced from four games to two, but the fact that the league had to suspend him for his reiterated infractions just speaks volumes of the kind of player he’s been.
The Broncos will need someone to pick up the slack defensively, as they have a divisional date with Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs.
Jackson will be eligible to come back for their Week 11 clash with the Minnesota Vikings, and he’ll have all eyes on him on every single snap.
Still, there’s a big chance that the Broncos will be out of playoff contention already by the time he’s eligible to get back.
