Celtic have romped to top-flight success over the last decade or so without much of a fight at the top. In fairness, Rangers were the same in 2020/21 so some fans are eager to see an old-fashioned two-horse title charge this season.

At the moment, all the ingredients are there for one. Celtic hold an eight-point lead at the top of the tree over Rangers but the latter have two games in hand to play after the winter break. Things could get tight points-wise come May but regardless of how it pans out, Brown thinks there is only one place the Premiership trophy is heading to at the end of the campaign.

Despite Celtic’s inconsistency in terms of performances this season, Broony is adamant his old side will win the 2023/24 title and move to within one of Rangers’ all-time record of 55 Scottish top-flight honours. And he’s named three factors that he thinks will be crucial to Celtic’s success. Brown initially spoke about the recent 2-1 Glasgow derby victory over Gers.

He said: “I knew they were going to get the result. When Celtic lose a couple of games they always bounce back well and Brendan is always very calm. He’s relaxed that way in the background.
