Some at Manchester United are concerned about the potential signing of Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise.

That’s according to ESPN journalist Mark Ogden, who claims that is down to Man United’s past moves for Palace players not quite working out.

Erik ten Hag has a slight problem when it comes to his options on the right-hand side at the moment.

Antony is yet to register a single goal involvement this term, while Alejandro Garnacho and Marcus Rashford are far less effective while playing on that side.

It’s led to rumours that United are considering a move for Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise.

Indeed, it has already been claimed that United are eyeing a move for Olise following Jadon Sancho’s return to Borussia Dortmund.

However, according to Ogden, some at United are concerned over a potential move for the 22-year-old.

Some at United concerned over Olise move

Speaking on ESPN FC, Ogden shared what he knows about United’s interest in signing Olise.

“Right now I think the Premier League is where he is best suited and for United he would be a good fit,” the journalist said.

“However, United have had players from Palace in the past. Wilfried Zaha, Wan-Bissaka and neither have really been able to make the step up from Palace to United.

“That is a concern among some at United that Olise may be another that fits that category.”

Olise has enjoyed a brilliant spell at Palace following his switch to Selhurst Park from Reading in 2021.

The Frenchman also received interest from Chelsea over the summer but ultimately decided against a move to Stamford Bridge and penned a new deal with Palace.

As for United’s interest, it does feel like a good fit for Ten Hag’s side. The winger possesses exceptional qualities on the ball and is capable of producing a moment of magic.

He’s popped up with five goals and one assist in just nine Premier League appearances this term.

While United’s moves for Palace players haven’t exactly gone according to plan in recent years, it shouldn’t deter them from snapping up Olise, in our opinion.

The Red Devils overpaid for Aaron Wan-Bissaka but the full-back has still proven to be a reliable option under several managers now.

As for Zaha, that move didn’t quite work out but United can’t allow past moves to decide whether or not Olise would be a good addition to their squad.

The winger won’t come cheap as he’s reportedly valued at around £60 million. But he would be a significant upgrade on United’s current options.
