Daniel Farke has confirmed that Dan James has returned to training for Leeds United this week to regain form ahead of Saturday’s (September 16) trip to Millwall.

The speedy winger has not played for the White Devils since the 1-1 draw against West Brom on August 18 due to an adductor injury.

However, with Patrick Bamford and Junior Firpo still absent and Djed Spence a major doubt for the visit of the Den, James is among those in training this week alongside Liam Cooper and Sam Byram.

Speaking to the media, in quotes reported by LeedsLive, Farke said:
“Daniel James is back all week.”

A welcome helping hand

Dan James spent last season on loan at Fulham and for a time it was uncertain that he would remain part of Elland Road’s long-term vision.

However, especially at this level, James could be a real asset for Leeds and Daniel Farke, with his electric pace a real weapon to strike fear into Championship defenders this season . He would have been a great option in the goalless draw against Sheffield Wednesday before the international break, where Leeds huffed and puffed but struggled to break down the door against their Yorkshire opponents.

For Farke, he will want as many of his attacking players to be fit and performing as well as possible in the coming weeks as they look to get going now that the first international break has passed.

Although James could only be on the bench against Millwall, it was great to see him back in the team.
