Alabama football landed a commitment from Jayshawn Ross on Monday night.

Ross, a four-star from Missouri, announced his decision on social media two days ahead of the early signing period. He’s the Crimson Tide’s 22nd verbal commit in the class of 2024.

Ross helped Kanas City’s Liberty North High to 13 wins this fall. 247Sports composite ranked him as the no. 21 edge rusher in his class and the sixth highest-rated player from his state.

Ross recorded eight sacks, a forced fumble and a safety on the defensive side of the ball. As a tight end, Ross made 14 catches for 254 yards and four touchdowns across 10 games.

He held offers from Ole Miss and Florida State, among others. The Tide offered on Oct. 27 and hosted Ross when it beat LSU on Nov. 4. Ross is listed at 6-foot-4, 220 pounds and is the second edge player in the group, joining Spanish Fort’s Sterling Dixon.
His addition to the class gives UA the third-ranked group on 247Sports Composite. Alabama is now ranked above Florida State and behind Ohio State and Georgia.
