Last week, there was reporting that said the Sacramento Kings and Toronto Raptors discussed a deal to send Pascal Siakam to Sacramento.

However, that deal apparently fizzled out before it ever became anything substantial.

But Kings fans hoping to see Siakam on their team shouldn’t give up all hope just yet.

Speaking to Run It Back, Shams Charania said that Siakam might still come to the Kings but only if the Raptors are willing to negotiate with Sacramento again.

“The [Pascal] Siakam market still is ongoing, the Kings are there potentially, but only if Toronto wants to go back to them,” Charania said.

Charania said previous discussions fell apart for a number of reasons, mostly because the Kings wanted to move quickly.

They yearn for more power on their roster but they want it quickly so the team can come together, become cohesive, and storm into the rest of the season.

The Raptors, on the other hand, aren’t feeling the pressure to move with speed, partly because they are the 12th team in the East and their chances of making the playoffs are slipping away.

They will take their time and only go with the best offer, whether it be with the Kings or another team.

There are plenty of franchises that would benefit from the addition of Siakam, who is averaging 22.3 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 4.9 assists.

The Kings are currently the sixth-best team in the West with a 23-16 record and are likely on their way to another entry into the playoffs in a few months.

They are doing well but know they could be even better, which is leading them to want changes before the trade deadline next month.

They haven’t given up hope on getting Siakam but they will have to wait for the Raptors to come back to them to spark up conversation again.
