Nebraska official visitor Jeremiah Jones sets announcement plans.

Intriguing Nebraska defensive target Jeremiah Jones is set to announce a decision on July 1, just a little over a week after visiting the Huskers.

Jones was in Lincoln for the final visit weekend of the June recruiting period, joining several others for a multi-day trip.

The Huskers zeroed in on Jones, a 6-foot-4, 200-pound defensive athlete earlier this spring. Listed at safety, Jones has the size he could eventually grow into a linebacker or could play the rover position the Blackshirts have employed under defensive coordinator Tony White.

The other official visit Jones made this recruiting period was to nearby Louisville, as the Murray, Kentucky product dropped by the school the first weekend of the month.

There are currently two 247Sports Crystal Ball predictions in for Nebraska with Jones and he’d be yet another defensive athlete joining the class.

The Huskers already have several defensive backs in the fold with Caden VerMaas and Tanner Terch, but Nebraska could also be trending with cornerback Bryson Webber and safety Aiden Manutai, each of whom visited Nebraska this month.
