Liverpool forward Diogo Jota’s wife Rute Cardoso has hit out at Premier League officiating with a brutal taunt after the PGMOL admitted to a significant human error in the Tottenham loss

Diogo Jota’s wife, Rute Cardoso, has criticized Premier League officials following Liverpool’s controversial defeat to Tottenham.

Jurgen Klopp’s side were reduced to nine men after a straight red card for Curtis Jones and two yellow cards for Jota, as well as a perfect goal by Luis Diaz were ruled out by officials. Rute is in no mood to forgive Gane, as seen on social media.

Posting PGMOL’s statement to her Instagram Story following Joel Matip’s late own goal at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, she added the caption:

“The game is rigged.”

Following up to that post, she added a clip of Jota’s first yellow card in the same fixture, as Destiny Udogie went down under minimal or no contact. She added a clown emoji to the clip which had already been captioned: “This was given as a yellow card.” By a fuming Liverpool fan page.

Jota and Rute, who had a child together back in 2021, moved to England back in 2017 after he joined Wolves from Atletico Madrid

He will now miss their trip to take on Brighton thanks to his red, with Klopp left fuming by the response of the PGMOL to the fixture

He said of Jota’s dismissal: “The two situations; the first I think is clear not a yellow. The second I didn’t see actually back but it’s not important. If the first is not a yellow then we still play with 10 men.”

He added of the red for Curtis Jones: “Probably everybody here in the [press] room thinks it’s a clear red card, I see that different just because I played football and most of you probably didn’t.”
