New Arkansas transfer quarterback commit Taylen Green hopped on The Morning Rush with Tye Richardson and Tommy Craft on Wednesday to discuss his pledge to the Arkansas Razorbacks. Green is coming off an MVP performance for Boise State in the Mountain West Championship Game and took an official visit to Fayetteville this past weekend Green actually has solid connections to Arkansas. He was recruited by current offensive coordinator Bobby Petrino when he was head coach at Montana State. Green is really intrigued with Petrino as a coach but also appreciated the vibe from the players when they spoke about head coach Sam Pittman.

“It came full circle. It was definitely crazy. Crazy to think three years later I get to be coached by Coach Petrino. He recruited me in high school,” Green said on the show. “What attracted me was just his knowledge of the game, the detail that he speaks and just the evidence of all the quarterbacks he’s coached, the great quarterbacks he’s coached and developed.

Green is a native of Lewisville, Texas. He was hosted by fellow Texas native Dominique Johnson (Crowley, Texas)… which by the way is probably a good indicator that the rising redshirt senior running back will return to Arkansas in 2024. Green also spent a lot of time with friend and Arkansas rising sophomore cornerback Jaylon Braxton (Frisco, Texas). “I knew Jaylon Braxton. We grew up together and ran track and all that. We go way back,” he said. “I know a couple of the guys on the team and was hanging out with them. It was cool to see familiar faces and a lot of people from Dallas.”

As stated, Green enjoyed the environment in Fayetteville on his visit and appreciated what he took away from visiting with Pittman and what other players had to say about him.

“He definitely cares for the players,” Green said. “I was hanging with some of the teammates, and they said the same thing. He doesn’t BS. He keeps it real, and that’s what I like. He just keeps it straight and telling the vision and what he wants and what he believes in. Really, really passionate about Arkansas and really passionate about the program, and that’s what I fell in love with.”
