Crystal Palace winger Malcolm Ebiowei is set to leave the club on loan before the close of the transfer window with several EFL clubs keen on signing the attacker, sources have told Football Insider.

Ebiowei, 20, has yet to make an appearance for Palace’s first team so far this season despite the skilful forward having been named on the bench for nine Premier League games. The former Arsenal youngster is keen to go out on loan for the second half of the season and Roy Hodgson’s side are ready to let him move so that he can get regular first-team football.

Ebiowei, who joined Palace from Derby County in summer 2022, had a spell on loan at Hull during the second half of last season. He made five starts in 12 total Championship appearances for the Tigers in the 2022-23 campaign but failed to score or assist. This term, the winger has been limited to youth team football – notching one goal and one assist in seven outings.

Ebiowei joined Palace on a free transfer after making his breakthrough at cash-strapped Derby in the 2021-22 campaign, notching one goal and two assists in 16 games. He is capped by England at Under-20 level, making three friendly appearances in 2022. The 20-year-old left-footer, who primarily plays on the right flank, is under contract at Selhurst Park until June 2027.

Ebiowei is one of several Palace youngsters struggling for game time at present, with Matheus França, Jesurun Rak-Sakyi and Naouirou Ahamada all also playing a limited role this term.
