Well – according to TEAMtalk – Crystal Palace are in the hunt to sign the Chelsea defender alongside Bayern Munich and Roma. Mauricio Pochettino is looking to sell Chalobah – having failed to hand him a single minute of action so far this season. However, Dougie Freedman is yet to send a bid to Chelsea, as funds are being held to sign Nketiah.

David Ornstein of The Athletic recently confirmed that the England international is a leading target for Crystal Palace this month if Arsenal decide to sell, with Football London claiming that the Gunners have placed a £50m price tag on the Hale End graduate.

The Spaniard is quoted by the Evening Standard as saying: “At the moment it (signing a striker) does not look realistic. What my job is, and what we have to do is improve our players and try to get better results with the players we have.” Therefore, Nketiah seems likely to stay in north London, which suggests an offer could be made for Chalobah later on this month.

As things stand, a deal to sign Nketiah seems unlikely – meaning Freedman could end up making a bid for Chalobah based on what TEAMtalk are reporting. Mikel Arteta admitted last week that Arsenal are unlikely to sign a new striker this month.
