The 22-year-old’s departure ends 14 years with the club, when he joined Forest Academy at the age of eight.

Johnson left after 108 appearances for Forest, scoring 29 goals.

Johnson went on to play an influential role in Forest’s promotion to the Premier League that season, scoring 16 goals in the regular season Sky Bet Championship before scoring in both legs of the play-off semi-final against Sheffield United.

The Wales international scored 10 goals in 44 games in all competitions last season, including eight in 38 Premier League appearances, and started in Forest’s opening three games this season.
