– If Tyrone (Ga.) Sandy Creek cornerback Dalen Penson were to announce today, I believe Kentucky would be the choice. Georgia Tech is the biggest threat right now, but Notre Dame, LSU are lurking. Defensive backs coach Chris Collins has served as his primary recruiter. He is the nation’s No. 16 cornerback and the No. 137 prospect overall. Penson has an official visit to Lexington scheduled for June 21. I am entering a 247Sports Crystal Ball prediction in favor of UK.

– Co-defensive coordinator and outside linebackers coach Brad White made contact with Daphne (Ala.) edge rusher Talib Graham Wednesday and then followed up with an offer Thursday. Graham intends to visit at some point. He is rated the nation’s No. 29 edge rusher.

Marietta (Ga.) Sprayberry cornerback Mark Manfred has scheduled an official visit to Cincinnati May 31. Clemson, Miami, Kentucky, Pittsburgh, and USC are among the others in the mix. He has already visited the Hurricanes and Tigers this year. Manfred is the nation’s No. 38 cornerback.

– Lexington (Miss.) Holmes County cornerback Cortez Thomas took an unofficial visit to Kentucky earlier this week. He is hoping to return for an official visit. Thomas is the nation’s No. 31 cornerback.

Wayne (N.J.) DePaul Catholic wide receiver De’zie Jones planned to take an unofficial visit to Kentucky on the day that quarterback commitment Stone Saunders visited. However, when Cocoa (Fla.) wide receiver Jayvan Boggs decommitted from Ohio State, it created an opening in their class for Jones. Jones visited the Buckeyes instead and committed.
