Speaking of the Reds, the first regular season game ever played at Citizens Bank Park came on April 12, 2004 against Cincinnati. While the Phillies lost that game 4-1, Randy Wolf — who threw the first pitch in the history of the stadium — will be back at Citizens Bank Park exactly 20 years to the date on April 12, 2024, set to throw out the first pitch before a 6:40 p.m. ET start time against the Pittsburgh Pirates. One can only hope his iconic fan group “The Wolf Pack” is represented in some form.

Wolf’s best moment as a Phillie at Citizens Bank Park actually didn’t come on the mound, but in the batter’s box. On Aug. 11, 2004, Wolf hit two home runs against the Colorado Rockies:

The Philadelphia Phillies held their annual “What’s new at Citizens Bank Park?” event Monday morning, with plans to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the stadium at the forefront of what’s in store for 2024.

“While 2024 marks our 20th anniversary at Citizens Bank Park, we are ready to make even more history at our world-class ballpark,” Phillies executive vice president David Buck said. “The excitement surrounding Phillies baseball has never been greater, and as we celebrate the start of the season at home, we look forward to our fans experiencing all the terrific new enhancements that are part of our game day experience.”

For the first time, the organization unveiled the logo celebrating the 20th anniversary of Citizens Bank Park.
