Jamie O’Hara and Jason Cundy agreed that Sergio Reguilon, on loan from Tottenham Hotspur, was Manchester United’s best player last night.

Both experts spoke on TalkSPORT after last night’s dramatic 4-3 loss to Erik ten Hag’s side.

The start of the season has been difficult for Manchester United after poor results and many players not being selected.

Last night, they faced a familiar face to Tottenham fans in Harry Kane as Bayern Munich claimed a narrow win at the Allianz Arena.

Spurs fans may have been closely watching the game in Germany last night for a few different reasons.

Not only to see how Kane’s Champions League debut went against his new club, but also to see how Sergio Reguilon fared. The Spanish defender is on loan at Man United until January after being signed at the end of the summer transfer window.

Initially signed by Spurs for £32m, he also left the club last season after failing to convince Antonio Conte that he should be part of his plans.

Current Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou reached the same conclusion, but O’Hara was impressed with Reguilon last night.

He was one of the few bright spots in a disappointing evening for Manchester United.

O’Hara praised Reguilon on loan from Tottenham

Speaking to a rather upset Manchester United fan last night, O’Hara said:

“I mean [Sergio] Reguilon was your best player tonight and he’s on loan from Spurs. Co-host Jason Cundy agreed, adding:

“He was brilliant.”

Ange Postecoglou arrived this summer to discover a bloated Tottenham squad in need of streamlining.

Destiny Udogie returned from his loan spell at Udinese and Postecoglou immediately made the youngster shine.

Ben Davies is a very solid replacement, meaning Reguilon is once again out of the equation at Spurs.

O’Hara was impressed with last night’s loan deal to Tottenham and Reguilon hopes his successful loan spell at Man United will help him make the best move of his career.

He is unlikely to return to Postecoglou’s mind, but Spurs will be hoping they can make a decent sum of money by selling the Spaniard in the near future.
