Son Heung-min, the captain of Tottenham Hotspur, said he “can’t wait” to play with Brennan Johnson.

The Spurs player was speaking before of South Korea’s match against Wales on Thursday while they were on international duty.

As their respective nations square off in Cardiff, there’s a high chance Son and Johnson will face off.

On the final day of the transfer window, Tottenham completed the acquisition of the Dragons forward for a whopping £47.5 million.

Johnson joined Spurs after making a remarkable ascent to fame at Nottingham Forest, where he worked his way up.

Last season, the 22-year-old scored 10 goals overall and eight goals and three assists in the league for the Reds.

In their first season back, Johnson’s contributions helped Steve Cooper’s team keep their Premier League status.

“He will sense the strain”

Once the international break is over, Son is excited to face off against the youthful forward.

The Evening Standard reports him as adding that “Brennan is another new player.”

“He demonstrated his talent at Nottingham Forest last season, and I am eager to see him in person.

He has a lot of talent and is a really talented player. Greetings from Spurs! Looking forward to playing with him.

It’s just been four games, but we want to keep things going well with Brennan, our newest addition.

“When he joins Spurs, he wants to advance and get better.

“He will feel the pressure, but I can’t wait to have him in our team playing even better fast and attacking football.”

In our opinion

Let’s not jump to conclusions just now because it’s still early, but Postecoglou does appear to have the Midas touch.

He has completely reorganised Tottenham’s lineup, making them a team that is appealing to the eye, cohesive, deadly in attack, and reliable at the back.

Postecoglou undoubtedly made too many changes in the League Cup, but even then, the outcome was a loss in a penalty shootout rather than a crushing defeat.

Johnson appears to be a wonderful choice for the Lilywhites because the Spurs manager is known for scoring big in the transfer market.

There’s little doubt that Tottenham fans will be watching Thursday’s game in anticipation of possibly seeing two of their attacking talents in action.
