January may be a long way off at this stage, but it seems Tottenham Hotspur are still keeping an eye on potential new signings. One of the potential players is Sassuolo striker Armand Lauriente.

Since Harry Kane left this summer, Tottenham have been linked with various attacking players.
In the end, Ange Postecoglou decided not to recruit a new striker during the summer transfer window. As things stand, Heung-min Son and Richarlison are the players tasked with the difficult task of replacing Kane.

Things are going pretty well for Spurs at the moment, but it would be foolish not to at least look around and evaluate the options in the transfer market.

Armand Lauriente could be one of these options. The French striker has been at Sassuolo for just over a year and scored 7 goals in 28 matches in Serie A last season (Transfermarkt).
His agent even told TuttoMercatoWeb this week that Spurs have expressed interest in Lauriente this summer.
Spurs pursue Lauriente
According to Fabrizio Romano, Tottenham have definitely shown interest in Lauriente.

On the Here We Go podcast, he said: “Asking about if Spurs are still interested in Armand Lauriente. What I can tell you is I think this rumour is around because Tottenham sent their scouts multiple times to watch Italian players in general. They are very active on the Italian market.

“They always follow the Italian market, and this is why their scouts are always keeping an eye on some talents. Lauriente did very well last season for Sassuolo, and he is one of the players Tottenham are following and tracking, but they never made any bid.

“They never started a negotiation, so I can’t confirm that Tottenham are actively working on a move for Armand Lauriente.”

Spurs web opinion

We’re probably keeping an eye on a lot of attackers right now. Despite Sonny and Richy’s strong start, Spurs need to think about signing another permanent striker.

We’ll have to see how Lauriente performs this season, as I expect a player with at least double-digit scoring to lead our offense.
