It’s not often that a rookie player coming out of college can make such an impact in their first year playing for the NFL. That is certainly the case for Jordan Addison, who was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings #23 overall in the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft.

The Vikings were hoping for an impact player, though they likely did not expect Addison to fit in the way that he has immediately. It generally takes time for rookies to learn the speed the NFL operates.

That has not been the case for Addison, as the former Trojans receiver has not notched an impressive rookie record to go along with his first year.

Addison has been named the Rookie of the Month for October in the NFL. So far, he has logged 23 receptions, 297 yards, and 5 TDs.

What makes this number so impressive is his 5 TD catches. Addison has totaled 7 TD catches this season, which is only behind perennial NFL veteran Tyreek Hill. Addison logging 5 TDs in October is impressive, considering he is a rookie.

Addison has not lost a step since playing college ball, as his final year at USC saw this Trojans phenom logging 875 yards and 8 receiving TDs.

Addison had become the favorite target for Kirk Cousins, who recently suffered a season-ending Achilles injury. The hope now is that whoever starts for the Vikings can establish the same relationship that Cousins and Addison shared.

Addison has the frame and speed to make contested catches, which is what made him such a viable red zone target for cousins.

This is huge for the Trojans receiver, and we imagine he will continue to light the field up this season.
