Former Alabama offensive tackle Kadyn Proctor is back in the transfer portal, and potentially on his way back to Tuscaloosa.

The five-star prospect started all 14 games for the Crimson Tide last season at left tackle, a departure for Nick Saban in what would be his final year as a coach. Proctor gutted through early-season struggles and improved through conference play, helping the Tide capture a Southeastern Conference championship. He entered the portal and quickly transferred to Iowa following Saban’s retirement.

Now, two months later, Proctor told On3 that he will enter the portal once it opens on April 15. Reports from 247Sports already link Proctor back to the Crimson Tide. If Proctor returns to Bryant-Denny Stadium, one day after A-Day, it’ll be a major boost to UA’s projected offensive line and signal a massive win for Kalen DeBoer, Chris Kapilovic and Alabama’s new coaching staff.

 

It was a turbulent offseason following Saban’s retirement. Proctor, Shaun Alexander Freshman of the Year Caleb Downs and five-star quarterback Julian Sayin were projected staples of the future that departed. Proctor’s exit also featured Iowa self-reporting a Level-III NCAA violation for texting Proctor during the season. Overall, 25 players transferred from the 2023-24 roster.
