Paul Merson has praised Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario, noting that he has not been in the spotlight because of James Maddison’s form.
Guglielmo Vicario joined Tottenham Hotspur from Empoli in the summer transfer window.
Vicario has established himself as Tottenham’s number one goalkeeper.
James Maddison has left Leicester City for Tottenham in the summer of 2023.
The English international attacking midfielder made his Tottenham debut and has been one of the best players in the Premier League this season.
The 26-year-old playmaker has scored two goals and provided two assists in five Premier League appearances for Spurs this season

Former Arsenal star and Sky Sports pundit Merson says Tottenham fans need to appreciate 26-year-old Italian goalkeeper Vicario more.
Merson wrote on SportsKeeda:
“Earlier this month, Burnley had 16 shots against Tottenham and scored 2 goals despite losing 2-5.
“If Spurs apply the same style of football against Arsenal, I’m afraid things won’t turn out well for them.
“Guglielmo Vicario deserves a shot for slotting in between the posts for Tottenham – I’d say he’s gone under the radar a little bit as James Maddison has stolen the show at the start of the season.”

In our view, Guglielmo Vicario will be a big player for Tottenham Hotspur against Arsenal in the North London derby this weekend.
Arsenal have a very good attacking unit, and we expect the Gunners to have lots of shots at the Tottenham goal.
Vicario will have to rise to the occasion.
As Merson notes, Vicario has been superb for Spurs so far this season and has been a safe pair of hands.
Tottenham fans will hope that the 26-year-old Italian star turns on the style against Arsenal in the North London derby.
