The Green Bay Packers (2-3) are making their last minute preparations before they face off against the Denver Broncos (1-5).  The Packers need a win in a bad way as they have lost two in a row to the Lions and Raiders.  The Broncos’ defense has been sputtering as of late and should provide the Packers’ offense some opportunities to not only move the ball, but gain confidence.

The same can be said for the defensive side of the ball.  Overall, the defense has been pretty good through the first five games of the 2023 NFL season.  So far they are allowing 22.4 points per game, however, they have held their opponents to 20 or less points in three of their five games.  Going into Week Seven, the Packers decided to make a change at linebacker.

Jordan Sigler of Wisconsin Sports Heroics first reported it for our site:

Head coach Joe Barry said earlier this season that defensive back Eric Stokes being out was a “champagne problem” for the Packers’ defense. According to a statement by the Packers Saturday afternoon, Stokes will make his first appearance on the roster since Week 9 last season as they activated him off the PUP list.

The Packers released linebacker Justin Hollins to make room for Stokes. Stokes was listed as questionable to play the Broncos on the Packers Week 7 injury report. He was limited at practice all week.

While Hollins isn’t a household name, many fans have become familiar with the 27-year-old linebacker.

Over the Packers’ first four games, Hollins played 84 defensive snaps and 20 special teams snaps. Hollins was drafted by the Broncos in the fifth round of the 2019 NFL draft. In total, he recorded two pressures, seven tackles, and two stops. Among his 20 snaps on special teams, 15 were punt returns.  Hollins won Super Bowl LVI with the Los Angeles Rams on February 13th, 2022.
