MIDFIELDER James Harmes will be in new colours next season, after the club agreed to a trade with the Western Bulldogs on Tuesday afternoon.

Harmes, who has played 152 games for the Demons, will head to Whitten Oval, with the Demons receiving a future third-round selection in return.

Melbourne List Manager Tim Lamb thanked the 28-year-old for his contribution over the past nine seasons.

“Since joining us at the end of 2014, James has been a terrific contributor,” Lamb said.

“He has grown as both a person and a player in our environment and has always displayed genuine care for his teammates and coaches.
