Liverpool made several additions this summer, spending a total of $184 million on four players. However, Jürgen Klopp’s team still has a lot of work to do.

Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai, Wataru End, and Ryan Gravenberch were the four players that Liverpool acquired for a total of $184 million (£146 million/€171 million) at the end of the summer. While each of these players is an exciting acquisition in their own way, there are still holes in Jürgen Klopp’s roster that need to be filled.

No football squad is ever perfect, and that is always the case. Jol Matip and Thiago Alcântara would still be unemployed at the end of the current campaign regardless of what had transpired this summer, and Mohamed Salah rumours would have persisted.

Nevertheless, by adding a second defender and a defensive midfielder, Liverpool would have been executing a less risky move. Undoubtedly, there was a risk in not doing so.
