Leicester recruited the 25-year-old Montpellier winger for around 7.5 million euros in the recently closed transfer window.

On Friday, Mavididi put in an impressive performance against Southampton, scoring one goal while also assisting one and helping Leicester to a 4-1 win.

Nugent pointed out that Mavididi’s decision to take on the goalkeeper twice in the match despite only being able to pass the ball with just one shot shows his arrogance and confidence.

The former Leicester star added that his performance against Southampton also showed Mavididi’s desire to give his all for the club.

On BBC Radio Leicester, Nugent commented: “He has an arrogant attitude in not passing the ball to a teammate who is playing.”

“At first we could tell that the angle was probably against him. He tried to pass the ball intelligently past the goalkeeper, but the easy pass was for [Jamie] Vardy to take.

“The second time he received the ball and went round [Will] Smallbone, having to go half the length of the field, to face again, but it looked like the easy pass was [Kiernan] Dewsbury- Hall down the left to attack, but the confidence and arrogance he showed to kick the ball into the bottom corner showed he was trying hard and wanted to do well for the club.

The 25-year-old has appeared in all six of Leicester’s matches this season and has scored two goals and provided two assists.
