Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur drew 2-2 in the latest North London Derby. Mikel Arteta’s team took the lead twice but was pegged back each time

The result left Arsenal reflecting on missed opportunities and how they let Spurs back into the game twice. As usual, Tottenham got through to the cup finals and Arsenal let their nerves get the best of them.

Speaking to the press after the match, Mikel Arteta said: “We are very disappointed not to win the match, especially when you lead twice.

“It’s a shame we didn’t win. When we scored again and conceded immediately, it affected the team’s morale.

“I think it’s a very good team.

“They’ve got a really good coach. You can see the spirit in the team and the energy around them, but six games is too early [to make a judgement on what they will be fighting for at the end of the season].”

Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglu also had kind words about Arsenal, which really makes this whole thing strange.

“I thought both of our fullbacks worked really hard today. Arsenal have great players, but they got it done. Destiny got a yellow card but I felt he handled it well and ended up being the dominant player on that side. It was a great learning experience for him.

“It’s not about being satisfied with the results. You can get a result and a draw thinking you got away with it, but today I don’t think so.

“I thought we were playing a top team.”

When asked about the penalty awarded in the first half after the ball touched Romero’s hand, Postecoglu said: “It seems like sometimes it hits your hand and it’s a penalty, sometimes it’s not one.” penalty. That’s the way it is, man, I hope it all balances out.
