Abde Ezzalzouli, a winger for Barcelona, reportedly decided to sign with Real Betis on Deadline Day despite an Aston Villa hijack attempt and earlier contact from Liverpool.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Betis is “closing in” on acquiring Abde on a permanent basis, and the cliched “here we go” announcement is about to be made.

This critical information comes in the wake of Spanish media claims that Unai Emery unsuccessfully urged Abde to travel to Villa while Monchi talked to Barça.

While everything was going on, Liverpool was rumoured to have expressed interest earlier in the week and inquired about his availability with the Catalan giants.

The transfer window is closing, and it looks like Villa won’t be able to replace Philippe Coutinho, who is scheduled to leave for Al Duhail after terms were agreed upon with the player and both teams.
