Micky van de Ven says Tottenham star James Maddison has been the best player he has ever played with.
The Dutch defender, who joined Tottenham this summer along with James Maddison, added that his new team-mate has “a lot of quality” and “pure class”, as Micky van de Ven put it on Tottenham club’s YouTube channel.
This shouldn’t be a surprise because it could be argued that the 26-year-old has been Ange Postecoglou’s best player during the early stages of the new season.
Not only did he win August’s Premier League Player of the Month award, but he ensured that it was no curse by tearing Arsenal apart in the north London derby.
On a pitch that had a host of stars, James Maddison nabbed himself two assists, including getting the better of his England teammate, Bukayo Saka.
Nonetheless, whilst the former Leicester City star has tasted Premier League football for many years before, this is Micky van de Ven’s first venture into the big time.

“He has a lot of qualities. We can already see it on the ground.
“Honestly, every player when I came here had a very high standard and you said ‘wow’. The Premier League is the best league.
On the best player he has ever played with: “For me, Madders, when I came here, he is quality. This is pure class when you see him play.”

The only question supporters will pose is ‘why didn’t we sign him sooner?’, well, everyone knows the answer to that one.
Either way, Maddison is enjoying the responsibility of, not only being the main man at dinner, but the main man out on the pitch for Spurs also.
