Abdul Fatawu gives Leicester City the feeling that Enzo Maresca knows everybody wants

The Ghanaian winger made a big impact on his first start for the club, creating excitement and chances from the right wing in the 1-0 victory over Bristol City on Saturday

Enzo Maresca believes Abdul Fatawu evokes a feeling of being sought after by managers and supporters every time he receives the ball

The young Ghanaian made his debut for Leicester City in Saturday’s 1-0 win over Bristol City and impressed on the right wing. He combined agility with end product, regularly beating full-back Cameron Pring and delivering teasing crosses to his teammates.

His pace and willingness to attack have fans out of their seats, but they aren’t the only ones inside the King Power Stadium who want to see him put the ball at his feet. Fatawu’s manager was also very excited.

“Him, Stephy (Mavididi) when he arrived, Yunus (Akgun) when he arrived, they were not 100 per cent fit. We need to bring them, day by day, slowly, to the top.

Also because today he played for Macca (Kasey McAteer), who in the last two games has scored two goals and he worked unbelievable. It’s just to use all of them.”

That’s now six different wingers who have started games for City this season, with Wanya Marcal and Marc Albrighton also available to Maresca. Mavididi and McAteer have played the most minutes, with the latter currently the club’s top scorer.
