Croatia boss Zlatko Dalic has admitted that news of Tottenham Hotspur winger Ivan Perisic’s injury has hit him very hard.

Zlatko Dalic, the manager of Croatia, is angry after Ivan Perisic suffered a serious injury at Tottenham Hotspur training.

You would expect a fairly quiet week for Tottenham given that there is no European action for them this season.

Ivan Perisic is injured, but Daniel Levy has gone and hinted at perhaps bringing Harry Kane back to the team.

Tottenham Hotspur confirm Ivan Perisic injury blow

Tottenham announced earlier this afternoon that Perisic suffered a ‘complex Anterior Cruciate Ligament injury’ in his right knee.

Spurs added that the injury occurred during non-contact training and he will now undergo surgery immediately.

Tottenham have not said that Perisic is suffering from a torn ACL but he is now expected to be sidelined for several months.

Inter Milan’s 2022 new signing has been on the bench for all of Tottenham’s matches this season, but has made a real impact from the bench.

The 34-year-old came off the bench to equalize for Richarlison against Sheffield United and looked sharper as a winger than a full-back last season.

Perisic may sadly have played his final game for Tottenham though with his contract coming to an end next summer.

Croatia boss reacts to Perisic move

Perisic may also miss out on Euro 2024 if his injury is as bad as feared.

Perisic has been a vital player for Croatia for many years now and this probably would have been his final major tournament in a Croatia shirt.

This news makes Croatia coach Zlatko Dalic very sad as he faces the risk of losing a key player for Euro 2024.

Dalic told SportKlub in Croatia that the news hit him hard after working with Perisic for so long in the Croatian team.

Dalic added that he has spoken to Perisic and the Tottenham player is really determined to get fit for Euro 2024, which gives the Croatian coach real hope of a return.

“Ivan has been one of the best players of our national team for ten years and one of the leaders and key players of the national team during my tenure, so the news This had a strong impact on me and made me sad,” Dalic said. “His absence will certainly be a big setback for us in the rest of the qualifiers, we saw in two matches this September how good he is and how important he is. What about us?”

“I deeply believe that Ivan will be with us at the Euros next summer, that we must also win thanks to him. I have spoken to him and sensed his optimism and strong desire to be ready for the Euros, and knowing his dedication and physical ability, I am confident that He will recover wonderfully and reach his desired form by June.

“I cannot and do not want to imagine our national team without Ivan, we are all with him and we are looking forward to seeing him again in a representative environment. I wish him good luck” successful surgery, then recover physically and return to play.” field so he can do what he knows best: lead Croatia to great victories,” he added.
