Mikel Arteta confirms Gabriel Magalhaes transfer view as Arsenal prepare to complete double exit
Mikel Arteta is hoping to sign a number of players for his team, while Arsenal are looking to raise funds for further signings before the sudden transfer window closes.
Mikel Arteta has confirmed Gabriel Magalhaes’ importance to Arsenal and is expected to conclude a ‘busy’ transfer window. The Brazilian defender has been tipped to move to Saudi club Al-Ittihad this week.
When asked about Gabriel’s future after a tough 1-0 win over Crystal Palace, Arteta told reporters:
“It’s about the games we’ve come to expect, what I’m looking forward to, how we want to defend and attack and our belief that it’s for the best. He played both games, he helped us win both games for different reasons.
“He [Gabriel] is really good, he completely dominates the box. He will play a lot of games.
“Sometimes it’s a decision to make,” he added. When asked if Arsenal would like to sell Gabriel before the summer transfer window closes, Arteta replied with a shake of his head.
Ahead of the Fulham clash, Arteta was once again asked about Gabriel’s future at the Emirates Stadium. Arteta replied:
“Gabby is really important for us, an important player – nothing is happening right now.
“There are moves going on. The final week will be very busy – we can’t make any announcements at this time.”
