The Leicester Foxes are in an unusually dark mood when the team’s brightest new fox is unfortunately injured. We take a look at Kasey McAteer’s possible return date, along with other Leicester City injury and suspension news.

What a star. Essence of. McAteer is a new fan favorite on Filbert Way. He was, no less, the top scorer of the season. What a transformation the winger has made from prospect to loan player to unstoppable starter. The Premier League is looking forward to his presence, hopefully wearing the Leicester shirt in the 2024/25 season. But unfortunately for the Foxes, the young English player was injured. The incident happened very publicly at Blackburn Rovers’ Ewood Park, while it was broadcast live. Everyone watching live on television or on the field immediately knew that McAteer was not playing well. It was actually quite difficult to watch, made more difficult of course by the fact that it was a young professional clearly in pain and in tears.

At LCFC’s press conference on Tuesday ahead of their match against East Midlands side Preston North End, head coach Enzo Maresca confirmed his player would be absent for an extended period. The 21-year-old will be out of action for at least a month, but could be out for around six weeks. Bad times. This means that McAteer is unlikely to appear in the big match against Leeds United. Although he will likely return for the games against Middlesbrough or Watford. Unfortunately, the reinvigorated Jannik Vestergaard will also miss the start at Preston as he is serving a one-match suspension. Maresca did not reveal any other recent injuries.
